This year's PSI EE Info Days were held on November 11 and 12. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we had to choose a virtual format for this event for the first time.
A new record was broken in terms of the number of participants: We counted more than 400 registrations from customers, partners as well as participants from PSI Group and other interested parties from many different countries, which shows that PSI solutions are popular around the world. Participants who dialed in as early as 3:00 a.m. local time in Asia and the US prove just how important PSI products are to our customers.
Our programme showed the developments and functions now available with the new product releases.
Especially in connection with the new PSIcontrol release 4.8, we had optimized functions and ex-tended possibilities to introduce which clearly improve the ease of use of the system.
Another presentation featuring control system technology held plenty of interesting news for our PSIprins customers. Its contents provided specific information on the realization of the upgrade to PSIprins 8 focusing on hardware requirements and extended system architecture. The presentation ended by discussing the roadmap from PSIprins towards PSIcontrolX including a view on the current status of the ongoing developments.
Our presentation on PSIsaso/DSO won a record number of viewers. This PSI system offers substantial support to all distribution network operators who are facing the mandatory introduction of the “Redispatch 2.0” processes next autumn. The viewers were given an insight into the software system itself in order to let them see the current status of the development and to assure them of its timely completion.
Our colleagues specializing in PSIcommand spoke about the further developments and interaction between PSIcontrol and PSIcommand. The new planned outage management is a comprehensive and powerful tool covering the whole livecycle of switching. It thus becomes quite clear that integrating PSIcommand into your network control system will ideally support switching operations from request through management to execution.
Smart Grids are the basis for many higher functions to ensure the efficient and economic supply of energy to all customers. In this connection, PSIngo was introduced in its various implementation alternatives. This presentation focused on the functions increasing network transparency by Artificial Intelligence as well as generation and load management and was rounded off by reports on practical experiences with field installations.
The communication between presenters and viewers has been effected via live chat. The questions were answered comprehensively by the speakers directly after the respective lectures.
Even though we as well as our customers missed the direct contact with each other, PSI is pleased to be able to look back at the virtual EE Info Days as a successfully organized event. However, we are strongly aware of the great importance of the personal exchange of information and ideas with our customers and partners, and we thus hope that we can welcome the participants to the next PSI EE Info Days in autumn 2022 in person again.
