Simulator

As the size of a network grows, so does the importance of regular realistic training for network managing personnel.

Simulators developed by PSI offer training on any fault scenario for transmission and distribution networks.  The simulators utilise network specification data from the associated control system: operators train with their 'own' network and their 'own' workstation.

At the core of PSIcontrol are the network application programs with exceptionally short and quick computation times.  These are also useful for the realistic modelling of network protection equipment.  The simulator models the operation of protection equipment and the location of short circuits at random locations of the network.  The possible specification of random primary or secondary equipment faults shows the operation of the backup protection in the event of a fault.

By modelling all important protective relay types, the simulator makes it possible to verify safety concepts settings.  For safety experts this can be a very effective tool.
