Looking Back
PSI has been implementing network control systems since 1974. During the 1980s, many electricity supply companies urged cooperation between Siemens as general contractor and PSI as producer of the technical control software. In the years between 1980 and 1990 the team Siemens/PSI received many control system commissions.
When the complex and expensive computer hardware was superseded by cost-effective workstations, PSI had the opportunity to supply the hardware as well. This opened the way for PSI to offer all-in-one control systems.
During this time, the business division PSI Energie EE operated primarily in German-speaking regions. In 2002, the joint subsidiary VA TECH CNI was established with the Austrian company VA TECH to offer international control systems internationally.
Following the takeovers of parts of the group of VA TECH by Siemens AG, PSI AG took over all shares from VA TECH CNI. The main task of PSI CNI was to expand the international distribution and sales base of PSI AG.
At the beginning of 2009 PSI CNI was integrated in the business division PSI Energie EE. Through this measure we can have distribution, sales, development, project realisation and subsequent maintenance concentrated into one business division.
